Since today is Earth Day and I planted a couple of things this afternoon, I decided to take this opportunity to show off a little bit. My dianthus,Dad’s petunias, crape myrtle, and Mother’s tea rose, are all doing beautifully today. The ivy is putting on new greenery, and God’s beauty abounds.
Though my favorite flower is a Gerber Daisy (my dorm room was painted that exact orange, with sheets and bedding to match!) I adore all of the flowers we have putting on right now. What is your favorite flower/plant? Did you do anything for Earth Day?
A wonderful quote from one of my favorite actors.
The park that my daughter and I like to play at is full of little hidden places. Old play areas and paths that have since been left to slowly descend into that slightly creepy and yet completely beautiful glimpse of history.
There are times that I feel my brain is one of those abandoned areas. A plain old metal frame that is being covered and bent by the vines of disuse as I go about the rest of my life. Yet sometimes, usually when I’m right in the middle of something completely mundane, a beautiful bloom or brightly colored animal peeks at me and reminds me of the real purpose behind that ancient frame.
Now if I would only remember to carry a tape recorder in the car again!
I have just discovered that today, March the Fourth, is National Grammar Day! Go forth, split infinitives, and don’t leave your participles dangling!
Ever wonder what those media time outs are good for?? Well here it is, the answer you didn’t know you were looking for…WRITING!! That’s right, I went to a basketball game last night (Ride Rangers Ride!) and used most of the time outs to scribble down the next chapter of ‘Dragons in the Deep’.
It was a close game and we lost by a three pointer…but it fun and inspirational.
May you all have a Blessed Day!
Tomorrow is Superbowl Sunday…woo. Seriously, we don’t have cable or satellite and I would probably only watch for the commercials anyway, but I have a lot of friends who will be GLUED to the television and their smart phones. They will be making sarcastic comments and gloating over every little good move their teams make on social media, so that their friends will feel the sting of their one liners.
So today, before all of that yearly good-natured nastiness gets in the way–BE SILLY!
While you cook those snacks, do Random Dancing!
Start a pet bowl with whatever handy toy and animal are lying around near each other in your house (my cat is playing with her tail caught in my daughter’s basket. She LOVES IT)
Imitate animal noises and jump around as a guessing game…(we do that daily around here!)
Most of all, Have FUN! and GO SPORTS ;D
According to my meticulously lined out day planner, today is the day that I have set aside to give you a fantastically in-depth and insightful review of “The Book Thief.” Sorry, It isn’t happening today guys!
I have all sorts of great excuses. Things like: I was working on crochet orders through Whimsical Design by ESTyree (a facebook page that occasionally nets me some work). Or, I was writing and forgot to read! (its true! A blog a day and a new installment in my YA series: The Stone Dragon Saga)
In reality, I spent a lot of time doing those things. But mostly, I was busy reading to, being read to, and playing with my 17 month old daughter. Her favorite character in books and television?? Take a wild guess…May you all have a Curious and Blessed Day!
Today is National Reading Day here in the USA and I just want to remind us all…you CAN volunteer to read to elementary students and they WILL (probably) enjoy it! Help a child learn the literacy skills they need, and enjoy a good book. (I suggest The Foot Book!)
Have a Blessed and Book filled day!
